Phila Sculptors present “Catagenesis”

September 9 – October 21, 2012

Philadelphia Sculptors presents “Catagenesis” – an exhibition of site-specific installations and multimedia works sited throughout the Globe buildings. Local, national, and international artists will create works that respond to the historic context of the site and to its current physical condition. “Catagenesis” refers to the concept that breakdown, instead of being an end, becomes a beginning as it progresses to reorganization, and then ideally, renewal. Artistic interventions will show how this former industrial structure can be repurposed and transformed into a place of growth and creativity

Philadelphia Sculptors is seeking artists for this project. More information can be found at http://www.philasculptors.org/catagenesis/home.htmlSelected artists will receive $750. The postmark submission deadline is March 15, 2012.
